But, is there any possibility that there could be at least as much emphasis on substantive appraisal ssues as on entertainment? I certainly am not calling for any kind of censorship, just more discussion about appraisal ssues.

Edd, I believe we all want more input, questions, guideline links/references, etc. Feel free to add more any time - I spent a lot of time the first few days adding the links that I did.

No criticism intended and you all are ding a great job. It is us, the contributors, that I want more from. And just look at the list of new posts. Mssion accomplished. I'm satisfied.

It takes a while to build up a body of quality posts. Challenging problems do not arrive every day (in fact, these days we are lucky to get one or two a month). And I am sure that I, like a lot of posters, can tell a contrived dilemma from a real one.

That we have people like Edd, Otis, Steven, Jim, Doug, Roger and so many other high quality appraisers as posters means that when we DO get a legitimate question our responses will be less a "Who is your mentor, aren't they qualified to answer this" and more of a "This is how I see it being handled."

I think that is an issue best decided by the "market." If posters want appraisal issues rather than fun, then that is what we'll get.

Speaking of "market" I wonder if this board is going to be able to bring in large numbers of new users via internet searches? In other words, what would it take to get this place to come to the top when folks search "appraising message board" or something? My guess is it would be costly, but I have no earthly idea.

Willie, I've posted our site to Google's web crawler, but I haven't seen any results yet. I don't know a whole lot about this webmastering stuff, but I'm learning.

It's not costly at all (like in "free") but so far I've got exactly my money's worth out of them. They don't guarantee that your site will be crawled, and I don't know how (yet) to increase our exposure.

Shit....a neighborhood? That's easy......it's the area that a neurotic mom will let her kid ride his bike......all you have to do is explain it so an underwriter can understand it.
