Maybe I used the wrong word, I was trying to indicate the forum was a good tool to make you think, be objective, look at different points of view, express your viewpoint, and read other points of view.

As for posting ANY question here, it is to gain possible insight.

IMO, anyone that thinks any question is worthless has the option to not reply.

I got good replies to a question that made me think about different angles other than my own.

It was not an argument for recreation, as it was not meant to be a post for arguments sake.

If anyone took it as a post for any reason other than I wanted to view other posters viewpiont, I am sorry, but you took it wrong and out of context.

I rather liked the question.

I also think it shows how paranoid people can be when it comes to licensing. First, any lender can use any criteria they chose to decide if they want to lend their money on a building. That this bank chose to upgrade their underwriting staff by hiring an appraiser is laudable. I am sure that in the processing of a loan submittal, someone is going to get asked "What do you think of the appraisal?" I really wish more banks would hire people like Bill as opposed to hiring a clerk to do it.

That came through loud and strong.

Thank goodness we have those who are willing to teach and learn on here as well, that is what makes it worthwhile to me. The argument is recreational, but the forum is not at all valuable as a site for that.

Good luck at the bank, Bill. It certainly sounds like you have vetted the issue without the help of the forum. In fact, I'm left wondering why you asked the question here, but best of luck to you.

Edd, I followed many of your posts on the "other" forum and know full well you like a good discussion where one rebutts the other.

If it is their money. If it is a federally regulated lender, then they can lend their money on what the regulations permit and how the regulations permit.

You must be correct. I had hoped there was more of substance. I'll work on that. Thanks.
