So, which digital camera's does everyone use? Mine finally bit the dust, so I have to go buy a new one. I've been using Sony's, but was wondering what everyone else preferred as well.

I'm a Kodak fanatic, I love their cameras. But what I do is buy the wife a new one, and take her old one. Currently I'm using her old EasyShare Z740. Has a great zoom, but is just average for interior shots as the widest angle is 38mm. If I were looking for new today, I'd look for something that has a wider angle than 35MM (23mm to 35mm tops). Other wise, I buy the cheapest one I can find. No need to spend more than $350 when it's going to get banged up in the process of doing our biz.

Still with the "dinosaur" but my favorite is the Mavica. Just bought the wife a Kodak C813 for Christmas. I am NOT ready to switch to it for the biz.

I never buy anything with a Sony name tag... been burned once too often.

No one else is going to like what I use... most appraisers want a point-and-shoot. I use an SLR. The Canon Rebel XTI. I like having the options for changing lenses (and I had a bunch of old Canon EOS lenses, which mostly work) and the options for making my own settings.

I also still use my Nikon Coolpix 5400... an old workhorse that usually produces pretty good results.

used some different ones over the years, but the last couple have been Cannon-A 60

has a one hand grip N shoot; good clarity; not hard to use at all; had this one a few years and getting ready to get another, will probably stick to the Cannon line - I like it......alot

The cheapest one Walmart has. Around $80-$100

I am still milking the Minolta Z1 .... but Cat got a Nikon S51 for Christmas and I am thoroughly impressed with it ... about $200 but totally worth it in my opinion .... personally, I am holding out for the Nikon D70 or a Canon Rebel .... when the day comes ...

I just got a V705 (basically same as V750). Seems to work great...Kodak software...Not so good.

What is wrong with the software? If it is that goofy, I'll stick to Sony.

Ben, I don't use the software either. I just plug the camera in to the USB and download. The software is for if you want to use the Easyshare printer or do fancy stuff to the images. I don't, I just want to download it and import into the reports.

Thanks M L.......I uninstalled the 'Easy Share' software, up came the camera icon and I was able to upload the photos directly to my computer.

I learned a good while back that you do NOT want to install the software. The camera (all of them) are recognized as an external drive when plugged into the USB. Most vendor software has many bugs and spies that I don't want on my 'puter. So since I don't buy their fancy plug-n-play gadgets, I toss the CD. Life is good!

Started with the original wide angle Kodak DC210 ($695), then a Nikon CoolPix 2100 ($134) which was junk, got an HP R507 with a computer purchase ($58 after rebate) which finally died after four years so I just bought a Panasonic DMC-TZ3 yesterday ($211.99). It took ten years to get back to a decent wide angle camera!

V705. Kodaks have been good to me.
