Got this in my e-mail and looked it up. Seems like one of the most reasonable proposals so far. It might help...

Contact Your Senators to Support the Dole Amendment

Urge Your Senators to Support Independent Appraisers

Take Action!

To: Our colleagues
Re: Contact Both Your Senators
From: David Biggers, Chairman, a la mode, inc.

We have another opportunity to advance our position in Congress to fix the HVCC. Congress may take action on housing issues before the July 4 recess.

Both your senators need to hear from us about the negative impact the current version of the HVCC would have on consumers, appraisers and the economy at large.

It is anticipated that the Senate will debate and vote on the Dole Amendment number 4984 to the Federal Housing Finance Regulatory Reform Act of 2008 (H.R. 3221) on Tuesday, June 24.

Please contact your senators now by clicking the "Take Action" link above and ask them to support this amendment.

Thank your senators for their consideration and attention to this matter.

They need to hear from us today.

Thanks for your ongoing support. Together we are getting closer to helping create a level playing field and a balanced HVCC.

Dave Biggers
Chairman
a la mode, inc.

Only problem is that the link did not reproduce in the letter. And, having filled it out I cannot figure out how to copy it without reproducing my personal data. Maybe one of you computer gurus can help. Otherwise, the only two suggestions I can think of are to either write your senator directly or contact a la mode and ask them to send you this communication.

Copy results, paste into e-mail. Send.

Computers sure make life easier, don't they?

Okay, that didn't work... but, this did...

I believe I was just misunderstanding what was happening. My Mozilla was remembering the personal data, so every time I follow the link it's all there. I tried copying and pasting the link into MS Internet Explorer and it came up blank.

I'm going to trust you guys to tell me if my personal data comes up when you click the link so I can go back and edit it out. Pleezeee. Thanks.

I sent it to my Senators.

This just in:

When I started to post this, it looked like the Dole Amendment had passed, but that may not be the case:

Here's an other article about the Amendment for those who were not sure what it was:
