They (ASB) really take that confidentiality thing seriously, don't they? As you know, since we are not advocates, I fail to see the need for the provision in USPAP, in fact I think it is inappropriate. But, there it is much quoted and much abused, and obviously, much misunderstood. It is enough for clients who need confidentiality to tell the appraiser that and make it a part of the assignment and scope. Nobody needs this USPAP trigger in order to justify or maintain confidentiality. Nobody.
They finally recognized that the identity of the client is not confidential. I guess ASA lost on that one. Maybe there is hope for progress.
Keep that confidential would you?
