Win 7 Hang-ups

Postby Steve Owen on Tue Oct 27, 2009 10:13 pm

Apparently, Microsoft is singing the “same old song”… on this version of Windows. Yipes! Hope springs eternal. How many time must a person bend over? Perhaps once Service Pack 43 comes out, “Seven” will be stable enough to try. If you read the article, I find the comments related to the fact that you can run a virtual XP so that you can still run your “old” (you know, the ones that work and that folks know how to use) programs. Let’s see, pay $150 to run a version of OS in a virtual (translated , “slower”) session. Darn… I was sincerely hoping that MS would get it right this time. At least as right as MS finally got it with XP Service Pack 2 and 3 (several years ago)…

On software I think it is always a good idea to wait about a year...until they get most of the bugs resolved.

BUT, there are always a bunch of people that gotta have the brand new product (of anything), and are willing to pay premium dollars for it, just because it is brand new.
I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take this any more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_qgVn-Op7Q

They don't only pay premium dollars, they pay a tremendous cost in learning the new software. In the case of OS there is also frequently an additional cost for new software that is more compatible. Sometimes, the older versions of some of that software actually works better. Sometimes the older version of the OS actually works better... classic example is XP and Vista.
