Posting Ranks

Postby Jim Plante on Wed Aug 29, 2007 1:21 pm

Over in AF, when you signed on you were a Newbie, regardless of whether you'd been appraising for 20 years or not. After a thousand posts, you were an AF Addict. When I set up this forum, I had some of those set up to indicate the number of posts you'd achieved, but I've decided to totally do away with posting ranks. Instead, you're a "Member" as soon as you make a single post. We can change your rank to indicate your professional status if you request it.

My reasoning is that the experienced folks shouldn't be branded "Newbie," and a trainee with 1,000 posts shouldn't get more credibility for being a fast typist. Instead, the forum software allows us to designate special ranks, and that's where the "Certified Residential," "Certified General," "Lender," and other ranks come from. If you'd like your professional status to be shown under your name, PM me and I'll fix it. Otherwise, you're shown as a Member.

Unlike the other place, we have four admins here, any of whom can change your status. Since I didn't do it, you have three other possibilities: DB, Annemieke, or Goodpasture
