Okay, TC. Here's my question about your attitude. How do we fix and continue to monitor our profession if we don't review? And I include reviewing the reviewer in that category.

Luckily he was really old and died soon thereafter.

What a &*@!ing idiot (not sure if you can say that here).

Geez, just alot pissed off. Luckily, and I know this is sacrilege to some, my client went to bat for me and kicked major butt.

Again, who reviews the reviewers?

First of all, this is a business, not a profession.

If everyone is taught how to appraise properly, we don't need no stinkin' reviewers.

Not an answer. It's an honest question, TC. I just want a real answer.

From the very beginning, teach appraisers that they are disinterested third parties, and as such, should not be influenced by lenders.

That is how they teach the appraisers I know. Every person who has attended the schools gets that information. They also tell the police not to take bribes, and doctors not to take drugs, and other such warnings/cautions of trades/professions. They still have to police themselves, and reviewing is one of our methods of doing so.
In a perfect world, we wouldn't need reviewers. Of course, in a perfect world, we wouldn't need appraisers or lenders, or credit checks, either.

Give it up Ben; TC is never going to admit how much he actually likes some reviewers. Bashing reviewers TC's brand of fun, much like the AI bashing that others do (you won't see him bashing AI, just reviewers).

Hugs and kisses coming to you TC :whip:

True enough. I'll refrain from commenting on the AI until I get more data.

Is that a new requirement on this forum? I was under the impression all that is needed to participate is an opinion.

So, how did it happen that you took it seriously? There is a lot of evidence that suggests the conslusion that al levels these prohibitions are given lip service and the real message is, don't get caught catering to the lender's need for value.
